Alce Nero dark chocolate bar with 71% cocoa combines the intense flavour of cocoa with a delicate hint of vanilla, creating a balanced and highly-refined blend. The cocoa used for our dark chocolate is certified Fairtrade and comes from Latin America where it is grown by groups of farmers, including the members of the Appta Association in Costa Rica and the Norandino Cooperative in Peru. After the beans have been roasted they are processed using the expertise of the historic Swiss chocolatier, Chocolat Stella, an Alce Nero partner. Alce Nero, the Appta Association and the Norandino Cooperative are part of Cooperativa Sin Fronteras, a cooperative which has promoted the quality and wholesomeness of raw ingredients since it was established, but which, more than anything else, fosters social and environmental sustainability.
