For this olive oil with the quality seal D.O.P. Frantoi Cutrera- who amongst other awards has been named “best olive oil producer 2011” by the acclaimed Gambero Rosso olive oil guide- uses only the rare olive type of “Tonda Iblea”. This olive only grows in the mountainous landscape of Chiaramonte Gulfi (province Ragusa, Sicily) on trees of least 200 years of age, some of them even close to 1000 years. These unique olives cerate fruity olive oils with pure and full-bodied aromas, with clear notes of artichokes, green tomatoes and freshly mowed lawn as well as a peppery and complex finish.
