Pesto alla Genovese evolved in the late 19th century in Genoa. The traditional recipe includes seven ingredients whereby we forego cheese. Instead, the good basil is the focus: we only use the best basil from the Italian coastal region, which is harvested when leaves are still small and therefore especially aromatic. In our pesto it is combined with additional top quality ingredients – of course strictly according to the original recipe.
