For this olive oil Luigi Tega- whose family´s roots in olive oil production date back to the 16th century- uses only the premium olive type “Moraiolo”. This olive is tyical for the region of Umbria and creates medium intense oils with “green” and peppery aromas: It contains notes of artischokes, cardamom, spices, almonds as well as black pepper. Even the most discriminating critics have called this olive oil a “masterpiece” and besides many other awards it has won the price of “best olive oil 2011 – awarded by top chefs” of the acclaimed Gambero Rosso olive oil guide.
